So, just how insecure is Android really?

Nobody doubts that Android is a serious mobile platform these days. But a report released last week would seem to suggest that when it comes to security at least’ the Android kernel’ has some serious problems. The 2010 Open Source Integrity Report, software integrity specialists Coverity insists, is a result of the “largest public-private sector research project focused on open source software integrity, originally initiated between Coverity and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in 2006″ adding that the results from the 2010 edition detail the findings of analyzing more than 61 million lines of open source code.
