PRISM shines new light on cloud encryption problem

The Edward Snowden revelations surrounding PRISM are impossible to ignore, and not all the feedback spinning out of the story has been negative. I'm not talking about the 'if you've done nothing wrong you have nothing to fear' brigade who, to be honest, are just as misguided as the tinfoil hat-wearers. No, I'm referring to sensible folk such as our esteemed Editor Max Cooter who has written about how PRISM may just lead to commercial spin-offs by potentially giving "a kick-start to Big Data in the enterprise." Or even, if blowing one's own trumpet can be forgiven, my good self exploring the notion of moving your data to a neutral country such as Switzerland where it might be kept outside of snooping range.
