Hands on the wheel: Why security, not cost, is driving cloud adoption

News broke over the weekend that a cloud price war is kicking off, with Amazon Web Services cutting the cost of its Windows-On-Demand EC2 service by as much as 26 per cent. This follows similar news from Google, which has already announced a four per cent price drop. Is this yet more 'proof' that when it comes to the cloud cost is everything? After all, bottom line budget savings are oft-quoted as the driving force behind a move to the cloud... Not in my (never) humble opinion it isn't. In fact, I would say that it's not the race to the bottom for pricing, but rather the race to the top for security that is driving cloud adoption.
