Securing social media for business

No fewer than 91% of businesses are so concerned about security that they are actively preventing official adoption of a social-media strategy, according to security firm Clearswift's WorkLifeWeb report. The number of companies directly blocking access to social-media sites has risen by a fifth since the 2010 report, yet 58% of managers accept that social media will be a critical factor in the future success of the company. Clearly, something needs to be done to address this imbalance between fear and need: Davey Winder has been asking the great and good of the IT security world just how to secure social media for business.
