Stupid Patent Infringement Claims: Spam Filtering

A company is suing Apple, Google, Dell, IBM, McAfee, RIM, Symantec, Yahoo! and a whole bunch of others for, it claims, infringing on the email spam filtering patent it owns. I’m not sure if this story should be filed under stupid patents or stupid lawsuits. On second thoughts it should be both, considering how basic the patent is and extravagant the lawsuit claims resulting from it.
