Is it the right time to be launching HealthVault?

I am, I admit, something of an obsessive news hound. The first thing I do when I wake up is read the news-feeds on my iPhone. And boy oh boy has it been an interesting few weeks on the NHS news front. The new coalition government has issued an emergency budget that promises to drive through swingeing cuts in the public sector, while ring-fencing budgets for ‘frontline’ NHS spending. Doctors have been threatening to boycott the Summary Care Record database - while others have revealed that 800 private patient files are 'lost' every day in the health service. And Microsoft has launched its HealthVault service in the UK. In the mind of this journalist, all these things are tied together, and the string is security shaped.
