A hung parliament approach to data security
Tony Blair famously spun out the 'education, education, education' line and, as unlikely as it seems, it has stuck in the world of IT security ever since. For the last decade, at least, we the media have been told by they the vendors and analysts that you the user need to be better educated in matters security. Indeed, you the user have been told it is all your fault and if only you weren't so stupid the online world would be a much safe place. OK, most people have not put it quite in those blunt terms, although I have been known to have ranted thus on more than one occasion and with more than a little merit, even if I do say so myself. However, education is clearly not working and, as in the political world, it is time to move on.
