Bill Gates is not Nostradamus

Anyone else remember Comdex 2004? I do, because it was here that Bill Gates had one of his magic moments. Previous examples include such nuggets as “nobody will ever need more than 640k RAM” and “The Internet? We are not interested in it” but even by those standards the 2004 faux pas was a new highlight. Oh, you want to know what he said? Well, take a seat, put down any cups of hot drink you may be holding and prepare for some light entertainment, because here it comes:

“Two years from now, spam will be solved”

Ding! Time’s up Bill, and I don’t know about you but my inbox is just as full of spam as it ever was. Actually that’s not true, it has more spam than ever before and this despite advances in anti-spam technology and millions of pounds worth of research and development in the area, not to mention the legislative moves to block junk email.
