IE7 and Opera hit by security scares

So Microsoft finally make the release version of Internet Explorer 7 available for download and within hours the vulnerabilities are reported. Secunia have reported a problem with the handling of redirections using the mhtml URI handler which could be used to in phishing attacks. There is even a proof of concept code test at Secunia that will read content from news.google.com within the context of your browser.
But all is not as it seems, and for many reasons. Let’s look at them one by one and see how Microsoft emerge.
